Damning post office criticism is unprecedented - Davey9.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Mon 16th Oct 2006 The Liberal Democrats will lead a Parliamentary debate on the future of Britain's post offices today following a damning review by postal services watchdog Postcomm. Liberal Democrat Shadow Trade and Industry Secretary, Edward Davey MP, said "This damning criticism of ministers over post offices by an independent watchdog is unprecedented. "Postcomm's bleak prediction for rural post offices ought to shame these do-nothing Labour ministers into action after their acts of vandalism against the network. "With over 5,000 post offices in danger of closing according to Postcomm's figures, we now have a crisis of unprecedented proportions. The Liberal Democrats will be leading the Parliamentary campaign to call for action before it is too late."
