Attorney General's review continuing to turn a blind eye - Hemming - Department of Health and GMC still covering up5.15.30pm UTC (GMT +0000) Wed 21st Feb 2007
John Hemming MP has written to the Attorney General asking for the scope of his review of cases involving Dr David Southall to be expanded. "This review continues to turn a blind eye to the full nature of the abuse of process", he said. "Dr David Southall was damaging families with false allegations in the 1980s. The review has to be both of criminal and family court cases. It also must cover cases in the 1980s." "Furthermore the Department of Health need to reveal what happened to their review of the baby smothering research performed by Dr Southall in the 80s and 90s called protocol 85.02. In 2001 they promised a review, but since then there has been no outcome."
