SOLIHULL MP UNVEILS PLAQUE FOR NEW BRIDGE CLUB EXTENSION11.23.49pm UTC (GMT +0000) Mon 2nd Jul 2007 Solihull MP, Lorely Burt teamed up with the Mayor of Solihull to perform the grand opening of the newly extended and refurbished West Midlands Bridge Club on Warwick Road last Saturday. Around sixty club members attended as Mrs Burt unveiled a plaque naming the premises "The Marion Murtagh House" in honour of the founder and initial President of the Club.
Lorely Burt MP said: It was a great privilege to be asked to unveil the plaque in honour of the founder and benefactor of the club, Marion Murtagh. I'm sure she would be delighted that today's members have turned down big money from developers in favour enhancing the facilities. "The club really is a credit to the hard work of the members and will be enjoyed as a social centre for many groups for generations to come."
