LIB DEM CANDIDATE TO JOIN UPTON LITTER PICKERS12.03.51am UTC (GMT +0000) Wed 12th Mar 2008
West Worcestershire's Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate, Richard Burt will be joining Upton residents on a litter pick to help tidy the town next Saturday. The event has been organised by Upton in Bloom, who have appealed for volunteers to help clear the town and the river banks of debris after recent high water levels. Richard Burt said: "I am pleased to be able to join local residents doing their bit to give the town a Spring Clean next Saturday. "I recently walked the town with Town Council Chairman, Tim Perry, and saw for myself the amount of debris that had been deposited after the recent floods. "It's essential that the town looks its best for the start of the tourist season over Easter, and I'm sure volunteers will be there in force to do their bit."
