CANDIDATE JOINS FORCES WITH COMMUNITY ACTION FOR MOVE TO NEW MALVERN HOSPITAL SITE

8.15.20pm BST (GMT +0100) Thu 1st May 2008

Lorely Burt

West Worcestershire's Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate, Richard Burt has joined forces with Malvern and District Community Action to press for a new headquarters on the site of the new hospital to be built at Seaford Court in Malvern.

Richard held discussions with Community Action officers and attended a consultation on the draft plans for the hospital site held yesterday (Wednesday) at Malvern Rugby Club with Community Action Chairperson, Jen Boyer.

Richard Burt said:

"We discussed the possibility of using the vacant Dental Health Access Centre on the Seaford Court site as a new headquarters for Community Action.

"Jen asked me to take up the idea on behalf of Community Action and I have today written to the Chief Executive of Worcestershire Primary Care Trust, Paul Bates to explore the possibility Community Action moving there.

"It would be ideal for the organisation because it is a single storey building with easy access for volunteers and right next door to the new hospital, where many of the volunteer drivers would deliver patients for treatment."
